His academic background includes serving as Associate Professor at the Open University of Israel and Visiting Research Associate Professor at USC's Viterbi School of Engineering. He holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Weizmann Institute of Science and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers with more than 18,000 citations.
He serves as Program Chair for major AI conferences and Associate Editor for IEEE journals, bridging academic research with practical applications in AI safety and privacy.
Gary brings expertise in AI product development, privacy technology, and enterprise data solutions from leadership roles at Meta, Microsoft, and Snowflake. His work has involved building machine learning systems that serve billions of users while maintaining privacy standards.
As a product leader at Meta AI, he led initiatives in facial recognition and AR/VR privacy. At Snowflake, he developed data clean room and identity privacy solutions for enterprise customers seeking responsible data collaboration.
He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley and an MBA from The Wharton School, combining technical expertise with business leadership experience in both large-scale technology companies and early-stage ventures.
